Sales & Presales Leadership Search for Infrastructure and Storage Vendors

A smiling man with grey hair and a beard, dressed in a light grey suit and blue tie, stands outdoors with trees blurred in the background.

I search for sales and presales leaders and their teams at storage, data management and datacenter infrastructure vendors in DACH, the Nordics and Europe. This is the market I come from. For 25 years I sold storage networking, storage systems, data protection and data management, and I was the first employee in Europe or DACH for Brocade, EqualLogic, Decru, LakeView Technology and Prism Solutions. My first retained search as a headhunter was a VP and General Manager for a Japanese enterprise storage vendor in Germany.

The roles I fill in infrastructure and storage

  1. 1. Country Manager, VP Sales and Sales Director

Leaders who own the number for DACH, the Nordics or EMEA and know how infrastructure is sold: with channel partners and system integrators, in long cycles, with large deals at quarter end. I look at the teams they built, their partner relationships and the track record behind the numbers.

  1. 2. Account Executives and Business Development

Enterprise sellers and business development managers for storage, backup and datacenter infrastructure, often selling with and through partners. I check their customer relationships, the partners they work with and the deals they closed themselves.

  1. 3. Presales and Post-Sales Engineers

Systems Engineers and Solution Architects who size, demo and prove the solution in the customer's environment, and post-sales engineers who make it run. I assess technical depth against your product, whether that is storage, data protection, virtualisation or datacenter networking.

Why infrastructure and storage vendors work with me

I have sold, presented and hired in this market myself. I know what a strong storage seller looks like at a market leader and at a scale-up, and why the two are not always interchangeable. 97% of my placements are still in role after 12 months.

What you get: an operator's judgment from 25 years in infrastructure and storage sales, one person on your search from the briefing to the start date, and a written 6-month replacement guarantee on every placement.

If you are hiring a sales leader or building a sales and presales team for an infrastructure vendor in DACH, the Nordics or Europe, let's talk. A 30-minute call, confidential and without obligation.

Sales & Presales Leadership Search for Infrastructure and Storage: FAQ

Which roles do you fill for infrastructure and storage vendors?

Sales and presales leadership first: Country Manager, VP Sales, Sales Director and Head of Presales. Then the team they build: Account Executives, business development managers and Systems Engineers. Across primary and secondary storage, backup and data protection, software-defined storage, hybrid-cloud data management and datacenter infrastructure, in DACH, the Nordics and Europe. My first retained search was a VP and General Manager for a Japanese enterprise storage vendor in Germany.

Do specialist storage sellers still exist, now that so much has moved to the cloud?

They do, and they are scarce, which is why they are hard to hire. Data growth, hybrid architectures, data protection and data sovereignty keep on-premises and hybrid storage central to enterprise IT. The sellers who understand both the installed base and the move to the cloud are a small group, and they are rarely looking, so they have to be approached directly.

Why work with a headhunter who comes from storage?

Because in storage, credibility cannot be faked. I was the first employee in Europe or DACH for Brocade, EqualLogic and Decru, among others, so I know the buying centres, the partner channel, the competition and the difference between a seller who moved boxes and one who sold a data strategy. That lets me brief candidates accurately and qualify them on substance.

How does a search for a hard-to-fill storage role work?

Retained and exclusive, through confidential direct outreach to proven sellers and leaders, never through job boards. You get a qualified shortlist in 5–10 days and, for most roles, a signed offer within 14 to 45 days. Every placement carries a 6-month replacement guarantee, and 97% of the people I place are still in role after 12 months.
